The β-version of the vector
6S has been replaced with version 1.1!
|
Scalar version of
6S |
6SV1.1 (May, 2007) |
|
1. Scalar
(ignoring the effects of polarization) |
1. Vector
(accounting for polarization) |
|
2. Fixed
number of scattering angles (83), used for the specification of
an aerosol phase function |
2. Ability to
vary the number of scattering angles (up to 100) |
|
3. 10 node
wavelengths |
3. 20 node
wavelengths |
|
4. Fixed
number of calculation layers (26) and angles (48) |
4. Ability to
change the number of calculation layers and angles |
|
5. Default
exponential vertical aerosol profile |
5. Default
exponential + user-defined (up to 50 layers in the height range
0-100 km) vertical aerosol profiles |
|
6. Satellite
instruments:

6. Several new subroutines,
simulating measurements of the ALI, ASTER, ETM, HYPBLUE, VGT, and VIIRS
instruments, have been integrated into the the vector 6S. The new
subroutines were developed by Dr. T. Miura, University of Hawaii
at Manoa, Honolulu, USA. |
7. 6SV1.1 is participating in a
joint vector/scalar RT code comparison project performed by the
MODIS atmospheric correction group in collaboration with the NASA
Goddard Space Flight Center. All information about this project,
including the descriptions of the codes, conditions and results of
the comparison, is posted at
http://rtcodes.ltdri.org.
